PRO-MIX BK55 (now officially named PRO-MIX BKH) is a medium-weight, peat and bark-based growing medium designed for long-term greenhouse crops and outdoor perennials. This product features a high container stability, rapid dry down, and excellent drainage.Â
Key Composition:
- Processed Southern Pine Bark: 50% to 60% coarse bark that adds physical weight to anchor large outdoor pots and resist tipping in the wind.
- Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss: 25% to 35% to retain essential moisture without staying soggy.
- Horticultural Perlite: Added to maximize air space and root oxygen.
- Additives: Includes dolomitic limestone for pH adjustment and a wetting agent.Â
Best Uses and Performance:
- Container Sizes: Ideal for medium to large pots and containers (6 inches and larger).
- Water and Drainage: Features low water retention and rapid dry-down, which prevents root rot during heavy outdoor rain or frequent irrigation.
