Description
Serenade ASO Organic Biofungicide
Serenade ASO is an organic, broad-spectrum biofungicide that protects a wide range of crops from soilborne and foliar bacterial and fungal diseases. Growers apply Serenade ASO as a preventative treatment to establish protection before disease develops.
The active ingredient, Bacillus subtilis strain QST 713, colonizes roots, seeds, and transplants by forming a dense biofilm. This beneficial bacterium creates a protective barrier that grows alongside the developing root system throughout the plant’s life. As Bacillus subtilis establishes itself in the root zone, it produces metabolites that:
- Stimulate the plant’s natural defense system to promote vigorous growth and improve stress tolerance.
- Enhance photosynthesis.
- Suppress and eliminate soilborne diseases, including Pythium, Rhizoctonia, and Fusarium.
In addition to protecting the root zone, Serenade ASO provides effective foliar disease control. When applied to plant foliage, it helps prevent infections caused by pathogens such as Botrytis, powdery mildew, Sclerotinia, Xanthomonas, and Erwinia.
Key Benefits
- Mixes readily with many fertilizers and fungicides (refer to the product label for compatibility guidelines and restrictions).
- Provides a 0-day pre-harvest interval (PHI) and a 4-hour restricted-entry interval (REI).
- Works with existing spray and chemigation equipment.
- Preserves beneficial insects and microorganisms because of its low toxicity.
- Uses a unique mode of action that helps prevent pathogen resistance.
- Qualifies for exemption from Maximum Residue Level (MRL) requirements.
Labeled Crops
Serenade ASO protects a broad range of crops, including asparagus, berries, brassica leafy vegetables, bulb vegetables, citrus, corn, nongrass animal feeds (forage, fodder, straw, and hay), cucurbit vegetables, fruiting vegetables, grapes, hops, leafy vegetables, legumes, mint, herbs, spices, oilseed crops, peanuts, pome fruit, root and tuber vegetables, stone fruit, tree nuts, tropical fruits, and watercress.
