Zeolite Soil Conditioner
Zeolite Soil Conditioner is a highly porous, naturally occurring mineral that boosts your soil’s Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). It captures and stores moisture along with essential nutrients like nitrogen and potassium, then gradually releases them into the root zone as plants need them. This slow-release action helps reduce fertilizer and water use while promoting healthier, more productive plants.
By keeping water and nutrients available in the root zone, zeolite helps lower fertilizer and irrigation costs while improving nutrient efficiency. When incorporated into the soil, it can promote faster seed germination, stronger root development, more vigorous plant growth, larger plants, higher crop yields, and reduced fertilizer and water applications.
Improve Nutrient Retention
Unlike amendments such as lime, zeolite remains stable in the soil and continues to improve nutrient retention for years. It serves as a slow-release carrier for fertilizers and other agricultural inputs, helping reduce nutrient loss while making essential nutrients more available to plants. Zeolite also improves nitrogen retention in light and sandy soils, supports soil restoration projects, and enhances the productivity of depleted or acidic soils.
Regulate Nutrient Availability
Zeolite regulates the release of nutrients by holding them within the root zone where plants can readily access them. It retains nutrients without allowing them to leach away with water, giving roots a consistent nutrient supply. Its high cation exchange capacity and natural affinity for ammonia and potassium improve nutrient efficiency, strengthen root systems, and support healthier soils and cleaner waterways.
Reduce Soil Compaction
Zeolite loosens compacted soils and improves water infiltration, creating better conditions for deep root growth. Its highly porous structure increases soil aeration while maintaining moisture, encouraging healthier root systems and stronger plants.
Reduce Fertilizer and Water Requirements
Zeolite’s exceptional absorption and adsorption properties help retain moisture and valuable nutrients in the root zone, reducing both irrigation and fertilizer requirements. Its porous structure keeps soil aerated and evenly moist, creating an ideal environment for beneficial soil activity. Because zeolite is naturally non-acidic, it also helps buffer soil pH when used with fertilizers, reducing the need for lime applications. These long-lasting benefits make zeolite an economical and environmentally responsible soil amendment.
Application Rates
Lawns: Incorporate 5–15 lbs per 100 sq. ft. into the top 3–4 inches of soil before seeding or laying sod.
Gardens: Mix 5–15 lbs per 100 sq. ft. into the top 6 inches of soil before planting.
Potting Mix: Blend 1–3 lbs of zeolite with every 10 lbs of standard potting soil.
